Anglo American at the Invest in Africa Mining Indaba 2013

The Invest in Africa Mining Indaba is one of the premier mining investment conferences in the world, making it crucial for mining companies to have visual presence during, and beyond, the conference. Held in Cape Town in early
February 2013, Anglo American commissioned HKLM to provide concept design and to build and manage both its main exhibition stand, as well as a networking area in the
main foyer, known as Anglo American: Connect.

The main exhibition stand showcased Anglo American’s core business offerings and assets through interactive touchscreens, interactive brochures displayed on tablet devices, two massive screens and a display of Anglo American’s physical core commodities. The stand also had a commodity highway made of granite stone, intended to replicate the company’s key commodities, which ran from one end to the other. The stand provided an interactive environment, which showcased the Anglo American way.
This allowed visitors to actively engage with various elements involved in the business and gain a better understanding of the business operations.

The Anglo American: Connect networking lounge provided industry leaders an opportunity to interact in a semi-open environment. The lounge was created from a shell scheme that provided an open feel that contained three four-seater, semi-enclosed meeting rooms and a larger boardroom aptly named Diamonds, Platinum, Iron-ore and Coal respectively. The networking lounge gave delegates a more intimate experience in interacting with each other, as well as
providing Anglo American with strategic brand presence
at the conference.
