Anglo American at the 20th annual Investing in African Mining Indaba 2014

The Investing in Africa Mining Indaba, held in Cape Town in early February, is one of the premier mining investment conferences in the world, making it crucial for mining companies to have presence during, and beyond, the conference. Through a long-standing successful relationship Anglo American commissioned HKLM to provide concept design and to build and manage both its main exhibition stand, as well as the Anglo American Networking Lounge in the main foyer of the CTICC.

Built around Anglo American’s theme for the conference – Real Mining. Real People. Peal Difference the main exhibition stand showcased the company’s core business offerings and assets through interactive touchscreens, interactive brochures displayed on tablet devices, a massive digital screen and a state-of-the-art 3D projection table - known as The Mining Table. The stand provided an interactive environment which showcased Anglo American’s theme, which was reinforced through the use of social media, specifically through a live twitter feed on a plasma screen on the stand.

The Anglo American Networking Lounge provided industry leaders with an opportunity to interact in a semi-open environment. Through the creation of custom built pods, aptly named Real Mining, Real Difference and Real People, the meeting rooms allowed for an open aired feel while still maintain privacy of the delegates meeting. In essence the pods gave delegates a more intimate experience in interacting with each other, as well as providing Anglo American with strategic brand presence at the conference.
